Late in 2008 I started a blog named AndyDucks but lacked motivation to run it with much effort at the time. After a half year time out, the blog was re-instated in November 2009 and then grew rapidly into one of the bigger self-runned Ducks blogs. In 2010-08-12, the site moved and became Andyheim.com. With an improved design and a new home adress, the site can hopefully make some further strides down the road.
The idea is to run it as a hybrid between a blog and a newspaper, meaning that the posts will be written from more objective angles than you'll find in a normal blog.
About Andy Elvstrand:
My real name is actually Andreas and I'm 20 years old from Pitea, Sweden. Despite my age and my location, I've been a Ducks fan for about as long as I can remember. Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne are my two favourite players and had huge roles in me becoming a fan of the franchise.
Since 2006 I have been a NHL writer at SvenskaFans.com, the biggest online sports community in Europe. I now serve as an assistant chief editor on the NHL section, which gives me much responsibility on Draft day, July 1st and Trade deadline. Something that could hinder me from being the first out with updates on Andyheim during those given days. I'm also a former Ducks writer at Hockey Independent, although only for a short tenure due to lack of time.Almost everything I've written so far I've done for free and for fun, which is why I'm undergoing a journalism education currently. Still I take my role on SvenskaFans.com very seriously, having written a couple of articles alongside Ducks insiders Adam Brady and Dan Wood and interviewed Swedish NHL legend Tomas Jonsson amongst others.
I'm also an editor of Ducks and NHL videos on Youtube, many which have earned credit from Anaheim Calling, Adam Brady and the Ducks official twitter. You can check out my channel here.
